Television News Media Political Cartoon

In this political cartoon, it is clearly showing how the press doesn't really have much freedom and is forced to have self-censorship. The media has to basically sugarcoat and censor come of their reports to the public. But who is forcing the media to hold back on revealing certain information to the public? Is it the government? and if so what are they trying to hide from the public? All these questions are probably stirring up in people's minds when they analyze this political cartoon. But they still remain unanswered.

Nelson Mandela, Icon and Father of modern South Africa dies

Recently it has been all over the news. Nelson Mandela, an activist and peacemaker, has passed away on December 5th Thursday night at age 95. This has truly been a great loss. We all knew Nelson Mandela as the Freedom Fighter, prisoner, and South Africa's symbol of the struggle against racial oppression. The one who emerged out of prison after 27 years to lead his county out of decades of apartheid. He became the nation's conscience as it healed from the scars. Mandela, a former president, had been dealing with health issues recently such as a lung infection which has led him to many hospitalizations. Sadly, he has now departed. He was a hero to both blacks and whites and will truly be missed.

TV Media Political Cartoon

This political cartoon highly expresses basically most situations that are covered on the media. With the use of humor and simple to understand cartoons, these cartoon's purpose are to bring awareness of current events and issues that are happening in this world. As you can see on this political cartoon about television media, with a touch of sarcasm it is showing how most events that are covered and reported on the news are mostly grim and horrible situations. Can this world get any messed up? for once can something amazingly pleasant happen in this world. This cartoon is basically mocking how "bright" are all the topics that the media covers. Its expressing how the people feel, that we want more good situations to occur and to be broadcasted so everyone can actually see the "bright side" in this world. But we can only hope.

Reading Foundational Seminal texts

http://www.myheritage.org/news/why-the-declaration-of-still-independence-matters-236-years-later/

Many people nowadays find reading Foundational seminal texts incredibly long and "boring". That is probably why this generation of people are slowly getting less smarter over the years. I believe that Reading and acknowledging old seminal texts is very important. It exposes us to new ideas and causes us to think more. New ideas and thought are the most important reasons to read or to study what has been written. It also teaches us about the world and other people, and also reflects history. It makes us, in a way, learn and to probably not make the same mistakes that have happened before which were stated in the seminal texts. Also, it helps us improve our nation slowly by informing us the past problems and how we should act upon encountering certain situations. It basically leads us to the correct path seeing how our past generations dealt with things. As you can now see how important these texts are, maybe people can ignore the fact of how it may be boring, and can now start reading them and be informed on our nation's history and our past generations.

What is going on with our government?

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/wonkblog/wp/2013/09/30/absolutely-everything-you-need-to-know-about-how-the-government-shutdown-will-work/
http://www.cnn.com/2013/09/30/politics/government-shutdown-up-to-speed/index.html

Recently the biggest news on television media has been all about the Government Shutdown that occurred recently on Tuesday, October 1, 2013. What basically happened was that the House and Senate couldn't agree on a bill to fund the government, So because of this disagreement, The government has now shutdown; And who knows how long this will last. The last time the federal government shutdown was on December 15, 1995 and it lasted 21 days. Let's just hope this one will not last very long so everything could go back on track. Television media has been keeping us posted on everything that is going on so far since the shutdown. Like "The Senate will reconvene and will likely make a decision on the House's offer to talk. But Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said late Monday night that he wouldn't agree to such a meeting until the House presents a clean spending bill stripped of the amendments." We will soon find out what will happen next with the shutdown since this topic has become very popular and has also affected the people of the United States of America, who are eager for everything to just go back to normal and make everything right.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WVU12R-4k-A

Many people tuned in to see the 2013 VMAS,But later on were completely shocked at what their eyes had just experienced. Miley Cyrus's performance shocked everyone and quickly became the talk of the month. Some people called it a cry for help, or her just wanting attention. Other people really think she has gone utterly insane. Her performance of "We Can't Stop" was considered inappropriate and also "cringe-worthy" as talked about in the National Review YouTube video. There has been a big change of Miley from her years in the children's show Hannah Montana to her "We Can't Stop" video Miley. In today's generation of children and teenagers,Some say they might look up to her since she's a popular old Disney star. Many parents may completely disagree in Miley Cyrus being a role model for their kids due to her having such an improper attitude and conduct; Which was clearly seen in her performance at the VMAS. So what has really happened to Miley Cyrus? Is the little Hannah Montana girl still in her somewhere? Or is she completely gone? We'll probably soon find out.
